What is a digital waiver?
A digital waiver is a liability or consent form your customers read and sign on their own phone or tablet instead of paper. WaiverKit captures the signature, a server timestamp, and the exact form version, then stores a timestamped PDF with an evidence record that you can search in seconds.
Are digital waivers legally binding?
Electronic signatures are recognized under the ESIGN Act (15 U.S.C. §7001) and state UETA laws when the signer consents and the record is retained. WaiverKit captures an evidence record including the server timestamp, IP address, device details, document version hash, and the consent text shown. Whether a liability waiver's terms are enforceable is decided by a court under state law, depending on factors like wording, activity, and signer age.

Where are signed waivers stored, and what does the evidence record include?
Every signed waiver becomes a timestamped PDF in your searchable archive, encrypted in transit and at rest. Each record captures the signer's IP, device details, server timestamp, and a SHA-256 hash of the exact document version shown, supporting ESIGN and UETA workflows.
Does WaiverKit work in other languages?
Yes. Waivers can be presented and signed in 19 languages, so international customers sign in their own language while you keep one consistent, searchable record. Language support is separate from legal review: the English templates are written for US law, the translated template pages adapt clauses and notes to the law of each language's main jurisdiction with machine assistance, and no version carries a jurisdiction-specific legal review.
Where is my data stored?
Signed records are kept in a PostgreSQL database on a server we operate in Nuremberg, Germany. Signature images and PDFs are stored in a Cloudflare R2 bucket restricted to the European Union jurisdiction. Sign-in (Clerk) and payments (Stripe) are handled by US processors.
